Eros in Motion: Towards Reunion with the Divine through Contemporary Love Songs

The study set out to examine the nature of eros as a means by which human beings relate to God. A theology of the erotic says eros is a longing, a deep desire that drives us human beings toward fulfillment in God. The nature of eros is best expressed and understood in our romantic love relationships, although it is not limited to expression in this form. This project explored eros, particularly through the lens of love songs. The project is capped by experiencing an evening of reflection on the nature of eros through a vocal performance of cotemporary love songs.
